We have shared with our friends about our family living the dream on wheels. I am truly touched by how supportive everyone has been so far and realize how blessed our family is to have such fantastic people in our lives. We have yet to share this news with our family. We feel we need to have our 5 year plan as well as budget before we share this with them. I am already working on it! :)
I went to Beaudry's RV today to look at travel trailers and 5th wheels. Wow - 800 acres of "living the dream on wheels". I went into a Class A motorhome and had no idea how fantastic they are. Granted they should be for around $500,000!
I fell in love with one trailer and one 5th wheel. The travel trailer our Toyota Tundra can pull but the 5th wheel we would have to purchase a 1/2 ton diesel so we will cross that bridge when we come to it. Our new lifestyle is not going to happen until the earliest March of next year so we have some time to really think about this.
Some may wonder why we are doing this. I know I have mentioned I want to be completely debt-free. I do. We have been struggling financially since 2007 like many families. We are now in the position to purchase a home on wheels, pay off our vehicles and be 100% out of debt. Jason is about to be traveling full time and this way we could afford to travel with him. For those of us with kids we all know they grow up too fast and our girls already are. I do not want him to miss it...
We found out Jason's parents have water and electricity hook-ups on their property so we could park our home there from time to time. How perfect! We could also store some of our clothes and belongings there as well. This is one of the reasons I am not too terrified about this.
This week I am doing lots of research and most of you know how much I like to research! I am also getting ready to begin having a standing garage sale every two weeks. I also called a real estate agent, Starr (thanks Jami!) and we will be meeting with her next week to discuss our options. *Sigh* Cross your fingers and toes for us! It is a scary market out there for us Arizonans.
Right now I am loving the Sabre 5th wheel and here is a photo of it:
